Social Security Scotland
Social Security Scotland is an executive agency of the Scottish Government with responsibility for social security provision.
The agency recently moved into 220 High Street in Glasgow city centre, taking over the lease from Glasgow City Council. The building will house 750 members of staff from the agency.
The Challenge
Due to the materials used in construction, including low-E glass, the building has suffered from poor mobile signal for a number of years. Due to the importance and nature of the work taking place within the agency, communication is key.
All four major networks were required to be improved as the building will welcome people from various different organisations, all on different mobile networks.
The Solution
Boost Pro designed a hybrid DAS to improve all four major networks.
The system comprised of external antennas located on the roof, repeater units housed in the comms room and multiple coverage units strategically located to dissipate the signal of all four networks.
The Results
The signal has gone from zero bars to full signal on all networks.
This has greatly improved the operational efficiencies of all departments in the agency, enabling better communication and improved health and safety of the building’s occupants and visitors.
Our mobile repeater products are licence-exempt and fully meets the regulatory requirements in the UK (Ofcom SI 2018/399) and Ireland (ComReg S.I.No.283 of 2018)
