The Challenge

Roadchef employees working from the office areas of the Chester site were unable to make or receive mobile calls on their corporate network, EE. Despite good outdoor network coverage in the area, there was no in-building mobile signal.

This led to a number of operational challenges, including staff communication and productivity. With poor internal coverage, health and safety within the facility was also of concern.

Roadchef reached out to Boost Pro Systems to find out how we could help, without disrupting day-to-day operations.

The Solution

Following a detailed survey and consultation period, the Boost Pro technical team designed a solution suitable for the facility.

For this particular project, we were able to mount an external high-gain antenna to the roof of the building, ensuring cable runs were kept to a minimum, whilst still managing to ensure the signal gain was maximised. We placed four coverage units within the employee office areas, ensuring the entire backroom office area was covered with full EE signal.

This project leverages our license-exempt Passive DAS Industrial Signal Booster. This product benefits from:

✓ 3G / 4G / LTE Voice and Data
✓ Multi-Carrier Support with Carrier Switching
✓ Indoor / Outdoor NEMA 4 Rated
✓ Network Safe

The Results

All areas of the employee offices now receive full EE LTE voice and data coverage

Employees can now easily communicate with all stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, head office, and the public.

The team now benefits from health and safety, productivity and operational advantages of being able to use mobile devices on the move within the site offices.

Our mobile repeater products are licence-exempt and fully meets the regulatory requirements in the UK (Ofcom SI 2018/399) and Ireland (ComReg S.I.No.283 of 2018)
