The Challenge

Lidl engaged with Boost Pro Systems to improve the corporate mobile signal within the distribution centre in Lutterworth.

Both warehouse and office areas have struggled with poor mobile connectivity since the construction of the facility, causing operative issues for staff onsite. This is a very common problem within industrial buildings, due to the construction materials used (including steel, concrete, and Low-E glass) as well as often being located in rural areas and therefore far from the closest mobile masts.

This led to a number of operational challenges, including communication with other offices, suppliers, and customers. With little to no mobile coverage, health and safety in the facility was also a concern.

“The signal has significantly improved inside our Lutterworth facility following the installation by Boost Pro Systems. Staff are no longer having to leave the building in order to make/receive calls and to download key documents to work tablets”.

The Solution

Following a detailed survey and short consultation period, the Boost Pro team designed two separate systems to target the key areas within the facility.

Due to the poor donor (external) signal, high-gain LPDA antennas were used in order to maximise the performance of the system.

This project leverages our license-exempt Passive DAS Industrial Signal Boosters. These products benefit from:

✓ 3G / 4G / LTE Voice and Data
✓ Multi-Carrier Support with Carrier Switching
✓ Indoor / Outdoor NEMA 4 Rated
✓ Network Safe

The Results

Staff now benefit from a strong and consistent signal throughout key areas of the office and warehouse

Employees can now easily communicate with all stakeholders, including other offices, suppliers, partners and customers.

The team now benefits from health and safety, productivity and operational advantages of being able to use mobile devices on the move within the site office.

Our products are license-exempt and fully comply with Ofcom’s UK Interface requirement 2102 (IR2102) (UK) and ComReg S.I.No.283 of 2018 (Ireland).
